In one week I will get on a plane
to a faraway land
steeped in history, traditions, and inventions
the birthplace of my daughter.
In one week I will explore new ground
and experience unfamiliar ways
yearning to learn, to seek,
to understand.
In one week my life will change
forevermore
a dream will be realized
when she is placed in my arms.

Sandy, I get all misty eyed remembering our trip when I read about yours. I wish for your daughter an easy transition, and I hope for you that she is healthy and not too traumatized so that your first days together can be easy ones. Pack your patience and your sense of humor and drink in all you can of her homeland so that you have lots of stories to tell her in the years to come about the beautiful place she comes from.
ReplyDeleteI have to stop because I am tearing up.
What an experience you are about to have Sandy. It's an amazing thing when they hand you your daughter.
Good luck. I can't wait to follow you on your journey.
Oh my gosh I got teary reading your post and then the first comment too. Can't wait to meet you Sandra and start this amazing journey! See you next week!
ReplyDeleteSandy, have a wonderful Thanksgiving and an incredible trip to bring your sweet baby Chloe home. My cousin and his wife were in China Jan of this year and brought home their little Chloe who is 3. She is delight to our whole family...which I'm sure your Chloe will be to your family! Can't wait to watch your journey!
